Microscopes
Westover has long been the leading provider of microscopes for
inspecting fiber optic interconnects. The majority of their
products have been designed to provide precision performance
under heavy use and to tackle the most challenging applications.
With the rise in Fttx and mass manufacturing applications,
Westover has developed a new line of microscopes and displays to
provide a stratified price/performance offering. This allows
users to select a model that fits both their application…and
their budget!
New Access Products
Simply put, Westover grade optical performance at an extremely
low cost.
Probe Scopes
The probe scopes maintain the same compact body, one
handed operation, and rugged design. However, they use an
economy line of tips and adapters and do not feature the
ruggedized cord and connector. Further, the economy tips are far
more limited in selection.
LCD Display
Westover's new HD2 LCD display offers a mix of
performance features and value engineering. The advanced power
management within our HD1 is gone, but an innovative
GripSwitchtm feature provides instant-on when the unit is held
in hand. This saves battery life without need for a time-out
feature (can also be disabled for hands free use). The HD2 line
also uses a removable battery pack that accommodates either AA
alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries. Unlike other low-cost
displays, the HD2 is drop tested and field-ready!
Tired of changing tips to switch between inspecting patch cords
and bulkheads? The HD2 is available in a configuration with a
built-in microscope (patch cords), an input for an external
probe (bulkheads), and an A/B switch to change between the two
scopes. Now you can install the tips once and rapidly move
through installation or troubleshooting.
Lastly, the HD2 is available in configurations with an
integrated Visual Fault Locator. This critical tools goes
hand-in-glove with cleaning and inspection. Integrated into the
device, the VFL adds only $150 to the retail price!
